Cloudrail Now Supports Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

More developers are running production workloads on Google Cloud Platform – and now so are we. In addition to our support of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, Indeni Cloudrail is pleased to release our full support of Google Cloud Platform.

Whether you’re provisioning a simple Nginx server or an auto-scaling compute service behind a load balancer, be sure your infrastructure is secure by running cloudrail.

Getting started with Cloudrail with an existing GCP Account

If you have an existing GCP account, getting started with Cloudrail is quick and easy. First, register for an account and follow our instructions on connecting Cloudrail to your GCP project. It’s as easy as starting a Cloud Shell and pasting in a command. Cloudrail will create a service account that it uses to perform security audits on the GCP project.

provider "google" {
  project = "your-gcp-production-project"
  region  = "us-central1"
}

From there you have a few options. Use Cloudrail as a Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tool. With your project connected, visit the Cloudrail web console to see any highlighted vulnerabilities in your live production infrastructure.

If you have infrastructure as code, you’re able to take full advantage of what Cloudrail has to offer. Download and install the command line tool or VS Code extension to perform assessments on terraform files as you write them. Add Cloudrail to your deployment pipeline to ensure no new vulnerabilities are introduced to your production environment.

Cloudrail is fully customizable to fit your organization; whether you’re managing GCP projects for teams of hundreds of engineers, or if you’re the only person managing a few Google Cloud Compute instances; keep it all secure with Cloudrail.

We’ve put together a full tutorial on setting up Cloudrail with Google Cloud Platform from scratch. We’ll walk you through installing it locally for testing local terraform resources, to implementing Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) capabilities, to detecting drift in your infrastructure. Check it out here.
